Crown Pea
Crown Pea
Price: $3.00

An extremely rare type of pea, formerly considered a separate subspecies from the common pea. Stocky, bushy plants produce a large cluster of beautiful pink and white flowers (hence crown pea), followed by short pods filled with tasty peas. It almost looks like a cross between a pea and a sweet pea. Very ornamental. 30-50 seeds (12 g)

I’m glad we can offer this gem again this year! Triple Treat forms most of it’s pods in bunches of three instead of the usual two, which might be part of why it’s such a big yielder. Very tasty too, richly flavoured pods of medium length. 3 foot tall vines. 30-40 seeds (12 g)

Duke of Albany Pea
Duke of Albany Pea
Price: $3.00

Rare English heirloom from the 1800s. Once a common variety, it long ago fell out of commercial seed trade. I was given a few seeds to grow back in 2009, and the Duke quickly became a farm favourite. It's tall vines are covered in sweet, plump shelling pods. This is a pea that deserves to be better known! 30-40 seeds (12 g)
