Culinary Herbs:

Dill (from Windhorse Farm) - Grown for both the flavourful leaves and seeds, dill should be direct sown in the garden in late spring and staggered for a continuous harvest. An easy to grow perennial that is treated like an annual in our climate.   Sold Out

Cilantro (from Windhorse Farm) - All parts of this annual herb are edible. The soft leaves have a taste like citrus and are used in salads and salsas.   Sold Out 

Curly Parsley (from Windhorse Farm) - This versatile, biennial herb is great in soups, salads or of course as a garnish.  

(new) Fennel (from Windhorse farm) - A perennial native to the mediterranean, the leaves and seeds are great for adding flavour to salads, soups and other cooking.

Flowers:

Mixed Hollyhocks - A hardy, tall growing perennial that will thrive with little care. Perfect for a slightly wild cottage garden. Sow indoors in early spring for a May planting or sow indoors in summer for a fall planting.

Calendula (Calendula officinalis) - a.k.a. Pot Marigold, the nutritious petals are edible and can be used in salads. An annual that can be direct sown in spring or started indoors. Harvested from a mix of yellow, orange and white flowers.   Sold Out

Columbine (Aquilegia vulgaris) (from Windhorse Farm) - A must have for the early bloom and decorative seed pods. Mostly pink blooms, with some purple and white variations.

Pink Foxglove (from Windhorse Farm) - This beautiful, tall growing biennial is a prolific seed producer and can naturalize. Seeds can be direct sown in spring or started indoors.

Mixed Poppies (from Windhorse Farm) - A mix of these easy and fast growing flowers. Direct sow the tiny seeds very shallowly in mid-spring as they prefer growing in cooler weather.

Sacred Tobacco (Nicotiana rustica) (from Windhorse Farm) - Yellow trumpet shaped blossoms in late summer. The tiny seeds should be sown on the surface of the soil and kept moist until they germinate.

Lunaria (from Windhorse Farm) - Also known as Honesty or Silver Dollar Plant, they produce clusters of pink flowers followed by flat seed pods resembling coins. The pods are great for drying. These are biennials that produce leaves the first year and flowers the second. They should therefore be planted every year for a continuous supply of blooms! Seeds are easy to start in spring and will self sow.

(new) Evening Primrose - A beautiful and useful native biennial. All parts of evening primrose are  edible and the young leaves and shoots are especially good in salads. Produces a spike of fragrant yellow flowers in it's second year that will last most of the summer, followed by a crop of seeds in the fall adored by songbirds and humans alike. The tiny seeds contain high levels of essential fatty acids and can be ground and eaten like flax seed. Can self-sow and naturalize.


(new) Delphinium (from Windhorse Farm) - A perennial flower producing tall spikes of beautiful blue flowers.


(new) Obedient Plant (Physostegia virginiana) (from Windhorse Farm) - A native American wildflower. Tall spikes of small lavender-pink flowers. Each flower can be moved around to different positions and stay put.


(new) Arikara Sunflower - Ranges from 4 to 8 feet in height with both single and multi-heads on sturdy stalks. Some seeds are black and some are grey with lots of diversity. 


Wild Lupin - Seeds from the lupins that grow wild around the farm. Harvested from a mix of purple, pink, white and multi-coloured flowers.      


(new) Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) - A hardy perennial member of the mint family (Lamiaceae). Grows to between 3 and 6 feet and produces small purple flowers much loved by bees. 


(new) Black-Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta) - A hardy, vigourous native perennial, grows to 3 feet with sunny yellow cone shaped flowers perched on the top of bristly stems from July all the way through to October. A big attractant of bees and butterflies. 


(new) Mullein - A striking biennial wildflower as well as a medicinal herb. Produces a rosette of huge fuzzy grey leaves the first and and in it's second a 7-8 foot spike of tightly packed yellow flowers. Used to treat coughs and colds.
