Marvel of Nictaux Bean - Annapolis Seeds - Nova Scotia Canada
Marvel of Nictaux Bean
Price: $3.00

Developed on-farm by Owen Bridge - Large, flat, green pods with purple steaks, with cream and black streaked seeds. Good eaten small as a snap bean, but it's best as a fresh shelling bean or dry. Vigourous climbing vines, and pink blossoms.

In 2007 I grew a row of McGrath’s Africa, a pole bean with big purple pods and cream coloured seeds. A single plant in that row wanted to be a non-conformist, and sent out eye-catching streaked pods and seeds. I saved seed from that plant, and have grown and stabilizing this strain ever since. It still shows a small amount of variation between plants, some are more heavily streaked than others. - 30-50 seeds (15 grams)
